Monitor Features :
Transfer Display : Shows how
much data you have left to transfer before you hit the FAP.
Percentage display shows percentage left of upload and download
data.
Signal Strength Meter : Numeric & bar graph
display of your satellite device signal strength. Displays in green
when signal is good. Changes to red when signal falls too low.
TX
& RX Status : Shows the current Transmit & Receive
diagnostic numbers. (You can reference the meaning of the different
status numbers by selecting the "Basic Status" menu.) Green
lights show for ok status. Red when something is wrong with your connection.
TCP
& Web Acceleration Status : The TCP & Web Acceleration
can greatly improve your browsing & download speeds. These can
be
toggled through the Advanced Status menu. Green lights show when
they're switch on. Red for off.
Advanced & Basic Status Window : Simplifies
access to the Advanced & Basic diagnostics screens built into the
DW6000, DW7000, & DW7700 modems. Clicking a button opens your
default browser and brings it directly to the status page.
Custom
or Preset Service Plan Selection : Configuring up MyFAP
Monitor is easy ! A pull down menu in the "Options" screen allows
you to select from preset packages such as "Business Internet", "Home/Consumer",
"Small Office" & "Professional" plans. Selecting your plan &
modem configures MyFAP Monitor to the FAP settings of that package.
A "Custom" option is available too, which lets you enter your own
FAP limit and recovery rate.
Email FAP Alerts : MyFAP
Monitor can even sent an email to the address of your choice when
you're coming close to your FAP limit ! Just one more way MyFAP Monitor
keeps you from hitting your limit.
Network FAP Monitoring : MyFAP
Monitor can track the FAP use of a single computer, or can track the
usage of an entire network against your package FAP limits !
Automatic
Updates : To keep MyFAP Monitor automatically updated, just
select the "Automatically Download Updates" option in the options
menu !
Manual Service Level Entry : DirecWay is constantly
changing their service packages, especially for business level systems.
FapMon
allows you to manually enter your service level rates
too! This assures you'll always be able monitor your useage,
even if you subscribe to a new a new or not-listed package
level.
Custom Display Options : Choose from many
different program display options ! "Always on top", "Bordered or
borderless", "LED's or
Happy/Sad faces", "Hidden", "Compact", and more
!
Installing MyFAP Monitor : Installing
MyFAP Monitor is pretty straight-forward. Download and double-click
the installation package. By default it will want to create
a folder called My Fap Monitor in your Program Files directory and
install there. You can however change the installation directory to
one of your choice.
Configuring MyFAP Monitor : Select MyFAP
Monitor from your Start menu, or double-click the MyFAP Monitor icon.
This will start MyFAP Monitor. Bring up the "Options" screen
by right-clicking on the status lights in the tool-bar, or by selecting
the options screen button on the program. (See picture "A" below.)
Under "Select your Satellite Internet Service Plan", choose your modem. Use
the pull down menu to select your service package. (Or select "Custom"
to enter your own FAP values.) That's it ! Select "OK" at the
bottom of the page & you're done ! While on this screen you can
also configure other MyFAP Monitor display & function options.
MyFAP
